What is so wrong with coming together and agreeing on a topic.  Why can’t republicans and democrats understand that abortion isn’t a good thing and come to an agreement that makes it the woman’s choice with the best education and options available to prevent it?

Why can’t we come together and say “Hey, you know we kind of fu**ed up this War in Iraq.  Let’s get together and make a plan to get us out as soon as possible.” Why?

We’re not stubborn children that have to stick by our decisions no matter how wrong it was.  We can admit when we’re wrong.

Right now, as a country, we’re lost and too fucking stubborn to stop and ask for directions.

Barack Obama made an appearance on David Letterman’s Late Night Show.  He was very funny, he made a comment about the count down till the end of the Bush administration.  He stated that he used to hear things like that and it would make him laugh, now he feels the pressure of how long he will be campaigning for president.

The 2008 Presidential election is setting all kinds of records and precedents.  I believe this will be the first time our country will have a black or female president.  More money has already been spent on the elections and we’re in April of 2008 with more than 16 monthes of campaigning left before the voters do their thing.

This presidential election is the most important in our countries history.  It is important that candidates are chosen wisely and not by the mascots they represent.  Do your research people!

Mitt Romney is running for the President of the United States.  He has a lot of core values that align him perfectly as the next republican candidacy.  But, people can’t get over the fact that he is LDS (yes, Mormon is not the correct name for the religion, it is actualy L.D.S.).  Romney is a great guy and was a great leader, but I’m not going to vote for him based on his view of abortion and gay rights.  I personally feel that those people in that situation should make their own decisions and the role of the government should be to help people make educated decisions.

I’m LDS.  I have been my whole life.  It’s a great religion with family at the center.  We believe that the family is the most important unit in the world.  Mitt Romney’s religion doesn’t tell me what kind of political leader he is going to be so I’ll make my decisions on the things that are important to me.  My freedom of choice.

Am I the only one who notices how political conversations usually turn to a whining session over how government pigs snort the money straight from our pockets causing ripple effects so wild that our world will soon crumble to the ground and force our country to implode?   Answer – Yes I am the only one who notices.

I am not to pleased with the elected officials but you bet your ass I’m happy to live in a country where I can say we “elected” our leaders.  Stop the whining and enjoy life today, let the whining continue tomorrow as scheduled.

A simple conversation about world events sparks some of the nastiest political debates between friends, co-workers, and recently between my wife and I last night.  She is a very passionate girl, thats why I married her.  For the most part we see eye to eye on political issues and for once we actually agree on a potential President.

She was the one who turned me to Senator Obama and I couldn’t be more grateful for that.  I chose not to vote in the last Presidential election after I watched an episode of South Park.  In this episode the boys were trying to decide which new school mascot to vote for: A turd sandwich or a giant dusche bag.

And thats how I felt about our last presidential election.  No matter who I went and voted for it was between a giant dusche bag and poop sandwich.  I love south park, sometimes they help me see the big picture.  Our president has faced more obstacles and trials than any other president before him.   I can’t blame him for the job that he has done because I believe he is doing his best, but I do blame him for running in the first place.

As Americans we need to be involved in politics before the primary and presidential elections.  Too many people wait until the Party nominations are made to select their candidate and in the last election that left us choosing between poop and a dusche.

Everyone has values and ethics that change from year to year.  Maybe they don’t change, but they evolve and are refined over time.  Every election take a look at what you believe and then start looking for your candidate.  Don’t read someone’s platform and say “yes, thats what I think too” or that candidate will lead you off a cliff like a lost sheep.

Hey America, I’m as white as white gets.  I live in Utah for crying out loud.  But guess what…. I, just like you, am a descendent of immigrants who came to America and built this wonderful country that you think you love side by side with your immigrant ancestors.

Your family ancestors would be so ashamed and dissappointed with all of the “white pride” emails you all send around saying “Learn English or go home”.  Grow up America.  We are better than this.

I haven’t recieved too many forwarded emails containing crap from friends and family since I firmly told everyone how I feel about them. I think I sent an email that said “Don’t send/forward anymore useless fu***ng emails to me.  I don’t care how funny you think they are.  Thankyou Kindly, NxP”.

But today I did.  Some jack ass who will remain nameless sent me an email a chain email no doubtley started by Fox News Corp that talked about a new bill that Senator Kennedy was trying to push through giving worthless Americans a place in society.  It is called the “Americans with no abilities act”.  After doing a simple search on google I found thousands of sites debunking this “witty” email.

Of course it is false, but that isn’t my problem with this email.  My problem is the unintelligent wetodds that pass it on thinking that it’s real.  I know Sen. Kennedy is a bit of a goof, but no one is that big of an idiot.

When the good men that founded this country created political representatives they had no labels of Republican, Conservatives, Liberals, or Democrats.  We had good men standing for the things they believed and left the rest to the voters.  If you weren’t elected that didn’t mean that your party lost, it meant that the people of the U.S. had elected another man based on his morals, values, and goals.

We live in times where people feel that it is “my gang against theirs” and this is a plague.  This plague will cause men and women to take a stance on a topic because their party does even though they personally don’t agree.  This is everything that is wrong with party lines.

Draw your own line in the sand.  Chose your representatives not by the red or blue color of their suits, but by the choices they make and the ideals they stand for.  Visit with your representatives.  View their websites and read their stances.  Encourage them to have an identity of their own whether it makes or breaks their career.

I’m sick of generic officials leading us in wrong directions because of obligations they feel toward lobbyists or groups.  Barack Obama wrote about an experience where he went against a labor union that had supported him because he was a democrat.  His choice caused an outrage, but he made the decision based on his beliefs and morals.  This is the type of leader we need in America.  Someone who is real.  If you want a real leader, read their ideas and encourage them to be themselves.

Draw your own party line in the sand and stand by it.  This country needs no puppeteers or blind sheep.

I apoligize for what I’m about to say.  My plans for a romantic Valentine’s dinner with my wife were litterally shot last night.  I proposed to my wife three years ago at The Old Spaghetti Factory at Trolley Square in downtown Salt Lake City.  We were planning on taking a trip down memory lane on our Valentine’s Day “anniversary”.  That plan is now changing.

Last night Sulejmen Talovic, an 18 year old kid, packed a pump shotgun into Trolley Square and started shooting people.  Got out of his car and shot two people in the parking lot.  Then walked through the doors and shot and killed a sweet 16 year old girl who was a student at Brighton High School.  Over the next several minutes this dusche bag walked into a gift shop and shot all five people inside.

Senseless.

Immanuel Kant, German philosopher, built his philosophies on three basic ideas.  Everyman has the right to defend him self.  Everything you do should be done with good intentions for the purpose of doing good (no alterior motives), and finally he said that lies were inexusable on every level.

Arguements against Kant brought on mainly by those who have read Mill, say that the end result justifies the actions that you took to get there.

Lies are lies.  In this life we are blessed with a lot of character traits, being able to predict the future is not one of them.  If you lie to people you should be punished accordingly.   If you lie to your mother about smoking pot you should lose personal privelages and possibly face some legal punishment.  If you lie to a country that you represent about reasons for going to war, despite the justifications for doing it, you should be punished.  No more excuses.

Everyone has heard one or two funny quibs about excuses, “Excuses are like asses, everyone has one and they all stink,…..”.  Stop making excuses.  As the prophetic Yoda says “Do or do not, there is no try.”  Get it done.  If you are going to do something in this life, be honest and complete the task.  There is no room for excuses’ in this country.  We don’t have an image as a healthy country.  We no longer have an image as a just and moral country.  We no longer have the image of a powerful country.

Stop making excuses and get things done.  I was raised on the theory that you did the things that needed to be done.  Failure was never an option.  This country was built by like minded people.  What would they say now?  Would your God bless the America we live in today?  With animal cruelty, obscene obesity and gluttny, murder, drugs and intoxication and immorality.  The answer is no.  Our God would not bless the America we live in today.  Stop making excuses and make a change.
